Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled is a non-profit engaged in empowering persons with disabilities and distress in socio-economic-cultural fronts through its various initiatives on Education, Livelihood, Environment, Health & Nutrition, Sports, Culture and Rehabilitation.

Samarthanam app is specially designed for disabled to help them use mobile phone seemingly without any interruption to perform variety of tasks.

Features

Read from camera: We make use of the advanced computerised text to speech technology which helps the visually impaired to read anything. With the help of our advanced algorithms when a picture of any text from book, articles or newspaper is taken picture is analysed and is converted into text. Using the talk back feature, it is then read out loud.

eBook reader: The Samarthanam app comes with hundreds of eBooks preloaded. These eBooks are divided into different categories. User can either search from the main menu or they can search for specific titles under different sub menus. With hundreds of eBooks added every month Samarthanam app will help the users to get access to some of the greatest books of all time.

Jobs: Samarthanam trust employs people of all different background. People who have disabilities are recruited for roles where they can contribute to help others and help make the society a better place. The jobs can be sorted based on various factors such as locations, qualifications and type of jobs.

Location: The google maps are integrated with the Samarthanam app. Users select the destination and the app will give them turn by turn navigation.

News: The Samarthanam app helps the visually impaired access the news from all around the world. The news is segmented into different section and the users can select the category that they are interested in and that news would be read out sing the google talkback feature.

Community: Join the Samarthanam community and be part of this great organisation.
