Nexty - The new Bluetooth Chat

Nexty lets you get in contact with other persons (called Nexties) around you if they are using Nexty on their Android phone too. Nexty uses Bluetooth and not the Internet for communication. You will see when a new Nexty arrives next to you. It will automatically send your current profile text and image to it and you can chat with it instantly. Say “Hello“ to the Nexty you are interested in or send picture to it. Maybe the other Nexty (or person) wants to get in contact with you right now. Nexty can store the current place where you have met a Nexty. And Nexty is routing your message also to that one which is not direct connected to you if other Nexties are between you and the Nexty you like. If a message did not reach the other Nexty, it will be transferred on the next direct contact. Just go again to the place where you have met the Nexty and wait for it to come back again.

Hints

1. On startup of Nexty it asks you one time to set the Bluetooth discoverable time to endless. This is needed to enable Nexty to find others around you.

2. Nexty does not need to pair directly with another mobile phone. Sometimes one can get such a request from the Android system to do so. Please reject all these requests.

3. If Nexty is not in the “stay awake” mode and the phone goes to deep sleep and wakes up again: on some phones the Bluetooth chip is not proper switched on again. You will then recognize that Nexty is not able to re-establish the connections to other Nexties over minutes. Nexty tries to recover this situation by itself but may fail. You may switch off and on the Bluetooth by hand or end Nexty (in the task manager) and restart it by hand to help it working again.

Features:

- Text and picture messaging without the usage of Internet or central server/cloud (internet access can be switched off) using Bluetooth without any costs

- routing of messages to the Nexty that is not direct connected to you (approx. 85 meters max / max. through 5 other Nexties; depends on the position of the Nexties between you and the addressed one)

-creates a so called virtual private ad-hoc Bluetooth network with all Nexties around you (max. diameter around you: 170 meters)

- Indicator for message successful transferred or routed

- transmission of unsent messages on the next direct contact to the addressed Nexty

- every 40 seconds: scanning for new Nexties around you (approx. 15 meters max)

- Gender-Filter: the profile setting “I am interested in” defines which other Nexty will see you profile

- broadcast of profile changes (including profile image) to all reachable Nexties around you

- Strong RSA 1024 bit message encryption, no clear text or pictures on air

- No sniffing or recording of your conversation possible

- Option switch: „Hide me“: to be invisible to all Nexties around you

- Option switch: „Locate me“: to save the place where you have had the last contact to a Nexty (to get the street name internet access is needed)

- Option switch: „Stay awake“: to prevent phone from deep sleep to let Nexty search permanently for other Nexties around you while you are moving around (consumes more battery power)
