- Utilizes regular SMS:

By relying on SMS system, your message is delivered via the mobile telecommunication network instead of being transmitted across the open Internet. Fewer parties involved in the delivery of the message, means less chance of getting intercepted. It doesn’t even pass through our server (*). Even if we want to, we couldn't even intercept your messages.

- Employs strong encryption:

In order to protect your privacy, the messages are scrambled with strong encryption: Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), a modern cipher with no known practical vulnerability. Even if someone manages to intercept the message, they will not be able to read it.

- Secure encryption key exchange:

Every encryption needs a key/password. However instead of specifying the password yourself and share it to your chat partner, RoompySMS handles it for you. An ingenious method called Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange algorithm is used to determine the shared secret key for each chat. The cool aspect of this method is the fact that the secret key is never actually sent between chat participants, thus ensuring its secrecy. All of this happens seamlessly, no need to memorize more passwords.

- No upload of your contact list:

Because we respect your privacy, we do not upload your contact list into our server, unlike most messaging apps out there. Your contact list stays in your phone where it belongs.

*As an exception, file attachments are delivered via our server. This is because the standard SMS was never designed to send large amount of data.
