Around 150 million people in our world suffer, according to a 2007 study by WHO-related eye problems that could be solved with a simple visual aid.

These people who usually live by a US dollar a day or less, no money to buy a conventional glasses. The estimated loss of income resulting from the fact that these people can not work or not and that young people can learn anything, is estimated at about 120 billion dollars per year. This is almost exactly the amount that is invested annually in development aid in the world!

If there were a way to provide these 150 million people with simple glasses so would mean a doubling of global development aid equal. And for the people who need it most: poor, visually impaired men, women and children!

The EinDollarBrille consists of an extremely lightweight and flexible spring steel frame. The perfect elliptical, lightweight plastic lenses can be clicked with just one hand. The pretty, colored beads on the temples give each a unique spectacle, individual design. Even poor people deserve a beautiful spectacle.

Each EinDollarBrille produced locally by hand. To save costs were deliberately omitted strap hinges. Different Headers and nasal widths can already be considered during bending of the frame.
