The Art of Control's mission is to maintain the work of Mr. Joseph H. Pilates so that each member of our community develops as expertise in the movement of their

own bodies. To Maintain the nuances of this method that make it both unique and effective. To individualizing each client’s need and form a personalized program for their transformation, growth and progression.

The Art and Science of Contrology Pilates Instructor Training (ASCPIT) is founded on the philosophies and teaching styles of Joseph and Clara Pilates as well as Romana Kryzanowska. The training offers three programs: Mat, Full Instructor Training (combining both the Mat work as well as all the major Pilates Apparatus), and a Bridge Instructor Training for those who are trained through another program. As is the tradition of Classical Pilates, the Apparatus is seen as a collective whole and all pieces are taught at the varying levels of expertise. All the modules are distinct yet interconnected, building on the foundation of Joseph Pilates’ teachings and exercise system. Attendance and participation in each module is required as the full repertoire of movement is addressed in a sequential fashion. This includes modification, progression, and proper instruction and hands-on technique. Graduate of the ASCPIT, whether Mat, Full or Bridge training, is ready to work in the field of Pilates secure in their knowledge of exercise modifications for clients of all levels as well as proper cueing and hands-on techniques so the client feels safe and is able to progress to more advanced exercises as their body becomes stronger. Along with this, the graduate will have a functional understanding of anatomy to better communicate proficiently with their students and health professionals. Courses are offered in small formats overseas and in the States.
