Benign prostate hyperplasia symptoms may include -

1. Difficulty in urinating or slow flow of urine.

2. Painful or burning sensation while urinating.

3. Frequent urge to urinate.

4. Painful ejaculation.

5. Difficulty in having an erection.

6. Blood in semen or urine.

7. Frequent stiffness in lower back, upper thighs or hips.

8. Inability to urinate or dribbling of urine.

This prostate problem can be detected usually by a rectal exam. The physician may examine prostate, urethra, and the bladder by the use of a cytoscope (instrument inserted through the penis). Having a regular medical checkup that includes a vigilant prostate exam is said to be the best prevention against prostate problems. There are several kinds of prostate problems and some may involve cancer but mostly are not.

The type of treatment somewhat vary but often can be treated with no distress in sexual function. If not treated, a serious problem called UTI (urinary tract infection) may occur. This is a forerunner to a medical emergency and may include direct injuries to the kidneys. And a sort of complications might appear to be more serious.
