Area Committee To Improve Opportunities Now (ACTION), Inc. is a Community Action Partnership Agency which has roots dating back to the 1960's. Envisioned by President John F. Kennedy and furthered by President Lyndon B. Johnson, the mission to end poverty began through the development of the Community Services Block Grant. Poverty continued to grow despite many human services development programs over the decades.
