Pitești Prison is infamous worldwide for being the site where Pitești Phenomenon took place, the most violent action in the communist world. This was a form of continuous physical and psychological torture applied to anti-communist students between 1949-1951.

You can choose the general tour to see all the rooms of the Memorial or visit the prison through the eyes of Nicolae Purcarea or Stefan Davidescu, two former inmates of Pitesti Prison.
