UGC - NET Exam Pattern:

UGC NET will consist of two different papers (Paper I, II) conducted in two sessions. Candidates will need to appear for these two papers to be eligible for JRF and Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor only.

Paper 1: It will be of 100 marks and will contain 50 objective type compulsory questions. Each question will carry 2 marks and will be general nature and will test the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. The duration of the same will be one hour.

Paper 2: It will be of 100 marks and will contain 100 objective type compulsory questions. Each question will carry 2 marks and will be based on the subject opted by the candidate. The duration of the same will be two hours. The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I & Paper-II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet.

The questions in Paper I and II will be designed to cover the entire syllabus, including the electives. The candidates will require marking their answers for questions of all three papers on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided alongside the Test Booklet.
