Do you ever wake up with stiffness in your neck? What about pain in your neck that gets worse after holding your head in one place for a long time? These are typical signs of neck pain. Other symptoms of neck pain include muscle tightness and spasms, headaches, decreased ability to move your head, and difficulty sleeping.

Neck pain is becoming more common, due to time spent hunched over desks, at computers, texting on cell phones, and driving. The constant position of being hunched over tightens chest muscles and neck extensor muscles, while weakening neck flexor muscles and upper back muscles.

What signs and symptoms are associated with neck pain? Neck pain often feels tender, sore, and achy. You may have a limited range of motion, as well as headaches, jaw pain, shoulder pain, and arm numbness and tingling.

So, how do we get rid from neck pain and keep our neck healthy and strong? There are some simple exercises you can do to help strengthen the muscles in your neck and keep your neck mobile. Do these exercises daily, but wait until the pain is a bit better. You can warm up your neck and back with a heat pad or in the shower before you start the exercises.
