Data aquisiton for a social public transport app based on crowdsourced data

This application is the sensory module of a social public transport app based on crowdsourced data. We use it for data collection and baseline measurements. During data collection, the application monitors the phone's state and the user's activity. The data is collected anonymously. The measured data is then automatically uploaded to our server at the research-centre using the connected wifi network if available. The application automatically schedules uploades between the period of 20pm - 6am but it can be changed manually in the options menu. You can also select the trusted wifi networks to use. Upon a successful upload, the locally stored files are automatically deleted and the files on the server are stored anonymously.

After system boot the program is running in the background, "running" status appears in the status bar. It is possible to pause logging for an hour by switching to incognito mode. If you want to stop the data collection permanently you can shutdown the process in system settings, or wipe out the running application from the app stack.
