Blazify

Blazify is a music player for Android, built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. It streams from a large online catalogue, keeps what you want for offline listening, plays the music already on your phone, and follows the words as they are sung. No ads, no tracking, no account required.

LISTENING

- Millions of songs: search or browse songs, albums, artists, playlists and videos

- Gapless playback through Media3/ExoPlayer, the next track prepared while the current one plays

- Download anything for offline listening, or let it keep songs as you play them

- Play the music already on your phone, beside everything else, in the same queue and player

- A queue you can reorder by dragging, save as a playlist, or start a radio from

- Sleep timer, with an end-of-track option so it never cuts off mid-song

MUSIC ON YOUR PHONE

- Point it at the folders your music lives in; it asks for folders, not for your whole phone

- Browse your own files by folder, the way you actually arranged them

- Fix a badly named file: set its title, artist and album, and the correction stays put

- Covers found for tracks that have none, and an artist filled in where the file named none

- Leave out the shortest and smallest files, so voice notes stop appearing as music

SOUND

- Ten-band equalizer with a live frequency-response curve and 13 presets

- Preamp control, each preset pre-compensated so boosts never clip

- Bass boost, surround and reverb

- Volume levelling, for queues mixing a record mastered in 1975 with one mastered last year

- Skip silence and playback speed

LYRICS

- Time-synced lyrics with word-by-word highlighting

- Several sources, asked in an order you choose, because no single one has everything

- Translation and romanisation, for singing along to a script you cannot read

- A full-screen view, and lyric cards you can share as an image

LOOK AND FEEL

- Material 3 with Material You dynamic colour

- Colour taken from the album artwork, accent only or the whole screen

- Several player designs, with a live preview while you pick

- Light, dark, pure black, or whatever the system is doing

LIBRARY AND SHARING

- Liked songs, listening history, your own playlists, and a Top 50 built from what you play

- Listen together: share a room code and play in sync with friends

- Playlist import from a file or a link

- last.fm scrobbling and Discord presence, both optional, with your own credentials

- Music recognition: hold up your phone and name what is playing

- Android Auto and home-screen widgets

- Back up your whole library to one file and restore it on another device

PRIVACY

Blazify has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking libraries of any kind. Signing in is entirely optional; everything except your personal YouTube Music library works signed out.

One thing worth stating plainly, because it is the only time the app sends anything about your own files anywhere: when you scan the music on your phone, a track whose file carries no cover art has its title looked up online so a picture can be found. Files that already have artwork are never sent. It can be turned off, and turning it off only costs you the missing covers.

Blazify is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0. Its streaming core builds on the work of the InnerTune, OuterTune and Metrolist projects, all GPL-3.0; the interface, theming, branding and feature work are original. See the NOTICE file in the source repository.
