About TOHRC Walk Timer

English

Calculates walking time between 2 Bluetooth beacons and reports biomechanics.

The Walk Timer app runs a 10 Meter Walk Test (10MWT) using two Bluetooth Beacons (iBeacons), where the person walks past the 2 beacons and the app calculates the time. However, the app accommodates any distance between beacons. Following the test, biomechanical reports on step parameters, cadence, pelvis acceleration, and symmetry are immediately available for movements between the beacons. The results can be shared using a variety of approaches (file transfer, email, cloud, etc.).

While dedicated Beacons can be used, two smartphones running Beacon transmitter apps can also be used to set the timing points for the test. The person should start at least 2 steps before the first Beacon and walk at least 2 steps beyond the second Beacon, to allow the app to determine the time when you passed each Beacon.

Your smartphone must contain an accelerometer, gyroscope, and support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to use this app.
