Snake River PCS customers can enable wireless emergency alerts on their Android phone.

The Snake River PCS Commercial Mobile Alert Service (CMAS) application enables Snake River PCS subscribers with an eligible phone and active data plan to receive emergency alerts broadcasted by local or national authorities, per a new public safety initiative.

The application processes the following emergency alerts:

-Nationwide AMBER Alerts:Alerts when children go missing in your area.*

-Imminent Threat Alerts: Warns when there may be an imminent threat to your specific area.

-Presidential Alerts: Receive an alert directly from the President.

Subscribers can opt in (default) or out of any or all alerts except for Presidential Alerts. Subscribers can also change the alert ringtone for each alert with the exception of Presidential Alerts.

Beyond a requisite data plan, no additional fees are required to receive these alerts on the Snake River PCS network. Please visit a Snake River PCS office or call 541-893-6115 for any questions or concerns.

*If an alert is issued by an agency not IPAWS-certified, it may not alert you within the CMAS application. If this is a concern to you, please contact your local authorities and request that they sign up with the national center so their alerts can reach the widest audience via this new method of delivery.
