SerialDataLogger

This app takes serial data from a device such as an Arduino, and allows the user to plot the live data as well as log it. Signal processing tools allow for manipulation of the data for real time visualization. Works with a USB or Bluetooth connection. USB connection requires a phone adapter, and Bluetooth connection requires a Bluetooth module such as an HC-05.

With this app you can use your Arduino as a DAQ device. This opens up many possibilities for environments where your DAQ system needs to be small and portable, inexpensive and/or requires custom sensors.

It also makes sensor design more flexible, since the processing happens in the Android. Instead of having to upload a new sketch to the Arduino to change a parameter, it can instead be done easily on the Android without disrupting the data.

When sending data from the Arduino to the serial output, it should be in the following form:

Serial.print("a" + String(micros()) + ";" + String(data1) + ";" + String(data2) + "a");

It should look like this whether using USB or Bluetooth. There is no built in limit for how many data values can be sent at once. The first value should be the time in 'micros' for signal processing and logging purposes. Further instructions can be found within the app.
