Sekai is a tool that will help you understand and adapt to unfamiliar cultures as you work with your international partners. Sekai builds on the well-known model of cultural values presented by the Dutch researcher Geert Hofstede. According to Hofstede, cultural values can be measured through six cultural dimensions: power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, long-term orientation, and indulgence. Hofstede has collected an extensive amount of information in more than 70 different cultures with respect to these six cultural dimensions. You can use the tool to compare your preferred workstyle to the workstyle preferred in other countries and use this information to anticipate potential misunderstandings, better understand your partner, and make sense of confusing situations.
