Safety Alert Mate

SAM is the official Queensland Fire & Emergency Services and PSBA app.

SAM gives you access in one app to emergency warnings and information about severe weather storms, bushfires, major structural fires, flood and cyclones. The information provided through SAM is sourced from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and the Queensland Rural Fire Service.

Through SAM’s Watch Zone you can add your location or that of your family and friends, and SAM will provide any relevant information based on the location entered. Please note, the information provided through BOM is based on regions and may not reflect your current location or your watch zone radius request.

You simply click on any incident to see more information, and zoom in to see the latest mapped incident area. Please note incident maps may differ from the update time of each incident.

To receive information for your Watch Zone, make sure you have activated your location services on your device and enable SAM alerts. The default for the Queensland warnings sound notification is currently set to off. Please use the SAM Settings icon to turn on the notification sound for Queensland warnings.
