The American Standard Version (ASV) or Revised Version was produced by American religious scholars from different denominations of Baptist, Congregationalist, Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian and other Protestants.

It was published in 1901 and it became the basis of later revisions, such us Revised Standard Version, the Amplified Bible, the New American Standard Bible and World English Bible.

It derives from the English Revised Version (1881) and is a literal translation that attempt to achieve as much as possible the original meaning and structure of the original text.
