PREserv LoMo

A location monitoring service based on crowd-sources location information.

The app repeatedly checks whether your current location is one of different points of interest (POIs).

POIs are different university places in Aachen, e.g., Audimax, Karman Auditorium, and others.

The app reports your location w.r.t. these POIs to an aggregator in a completely privacy-preserving manner, i.e., no one learns your actual location - never.

This is ensured by using state of the art privacy-enhancing technologies, i.e., secure multi-party computation combined with differential privacy.

The distributed aggregators process all location statuses from the users and after applying the privacy protection the data is visualized on a heat map showing the people density at the different POIs.
