V&AR Implicit Assn Training

VARIAT incorporates contextual, experiential learning in a gamified environment to improve awareness of implicit biases among Medicaid providers, educate on how biases and social determinants of health may lead to inequitable care, and offer strategies and resources to minimize health disparities. The game consists of two distinct modules that focus on implicit biases toward sexual orientation and gender identity, race, and socio-economic status within a medical setting.

Main features:

• Augmented reality-based interactive role-playing game

• Patient case-based simulation scenarios, each lasting 5-10 minutes

• Guided debriefing of the experience

• Option for spaced learning

• Includes multiple choice and true/false knowledge questions
