Pokémon GO Is Celebrating Its 7th Anniversary with Events & Rewards

Recently, Pokémon GO announced its schedule of events for July 2023, which includes its annual anniversary celebration. This year marks the game's seventh anniversary, and Niantic has planned a similar party to previous years. The celebration will take place from July 6th at 10:00 a.m. until July 12th at 8:00 p.m., with various bonuses, special coins called Gimmighoul coins that sparkle, different Pokémon appearing each day for us to celebrate with, the return of a shiny Masterwork Research Story, and other exciting features.

New Upcoming Pokémons

The release of Wartortle and Blastoise in Pokémon GO will be happening soon! Players have the opportunity to collect Squirtle Candy, which can be used to evolve a Squirtle wearing a party hat into a Wartortle wearing the same party hat. Afterwards, it can further evolve into a Blastoise also sporting the festive headgear.

Complete Themed Field Research Tasks

During the 7th anniversary festivities in Pokémon GO, players can participate in special Field Research tasks with an anniversary theme. By completing these tasks, trainers will have the opportunity to encounter popular first-partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and others. Additionally, certain Field Research tasks will also grant Mega Energy for specific Pokémon as a reward.

Participate in Special Timed Research Event

Trainers can pay $2.00 (or the equivalent in their local currency) to access special Timed Research during the event. By completing research tasks related to the event, like hatching seven Eggs or evolving seven Pokémon, trainers will receive the following rewards.

All research tasks and incentives with a time limit need to be completed and collected by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in the local timezone.

Trainers who have reached a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with any of their Pokémon GO buddies can now purchase and share tickets with them. However, it is important to note that once purchased, all transactions are final according to the applicable law and exceptions mentioned in the Terms of Service. It's also worth mentioning that PokéCoins cannot be used for buying these tickets.

Masterwork Research story Is Back

The Masterwork Research story, which was first available during the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto in 2021, is now being offered again as part of the Pokémon GO 7th Anniversary Party. By completing this story, there's a chance to encounter the rare Shiny Mew! Once you make a purchase, you'll gain access to a lengthy Masterwork Research quest that can be completed gradually over time.

Tickets for the Masterwork Research narrative will be available for purchase until 8:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

During the 7th Anniversary Party celebration, those with event tickets will be able to participate in the Masterwork Research storyline. To obtain this research, simply open Pokémon GO anytime between Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m., according to your local time zone. Once you have acquired the Masterwork Research task, there is no deadline for completing it – take as much time as needed!
