Establishment of residents' association

People have lived in groups since the early days. This is because living in groups helping each other was more effective in protecting themselves from foreign enemies and in producing and securing food than living alone or as a family.

It became a village, they gathered together to become a village, and a town or country was completed.

In the process, nearby residents have continued to live together while helping each other.

No matter how difficult the post-war era is, no matter how the times change, inhabitants' self-governing bodies have played an important role in the Japanese community, which cannot be replaced by other organizations.

In recent years, people's values have diversified, and instead of emphasizing individuals, more and more people are not interested in the sense of solidarity and relationships in the region.

However, the suspicion of the existence of the residents'association has been reviewed due to the role played by the residents' association in the event of an unprecedented disaster such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In addition, the need for residents' associations is becoming more important in order to improve community welfare and promote community development in collaboration with the government in recent years due to the declining birthrate and aging society.

Role played by residents' association

Residents' associations are made up of ties between people living in familiar areas and family units, and while the human rights of each inhabitant are respected, mutual aid is created and affluent by promoting mutual friendship and mutual communication. The purpose is to create a comfortable community where people can live with peace of mind.

The deep ties of local residents and the revitalization of the region are not established by the instructions and guidance from the law and the government, but are built by the residents themselves acting independently. It can be said that the residents' association plays a major role in building a truly livable town.

Action of residents' association at the time of earthquake

It is said that many of the residents' associations, which regularly conduct disaster prevention and evacuation drills to confirm evacuation shelters and prepare disaster prevention equipment, used their daily training to ensure smooth evacuation.

On the day of the earthquake, we set up a disaster response headquarters and confirmed the safety of the residents. Some residents' associations provided simple toilets and other items from disaster supplies, and also provided drinking water and temporary toilets with the accumulated disaster countermeasure reserves.

If you don't have a neighborhood association, or if you don't participate in a neighborhood association, you have to protect yourself or your family and evacuate. When you encounter an earthquake, can you do the first thing, such as extinguishing the source of the fire? Do you have any items to take to the evacuation center, such as earthquake equipment? Do you know where it is located? Do you understand where the shelter is and what path you should take to get there faster?

The idea of mutual aid is at the core of the activities of the residents' association. It means helping each other. Especially in the event of an earthquake, local people can help each other, which will save as many lives as possible.

In the wake of the disaster, many residents' associations have taken the lead in creating disaster prevention organizations throughout Japan.

Activities

Various activities are carried out in the residents' association.

Mutual aid

If you are a member of the neighborhood association, you will be able to get information about the area by turning around the circulation board, and you will have more opportunities to interact with the neighbors. This deepens the relationship between the residents and creates awareness and actions to help each other. If you know your family structure and age in advance, it will help you in case of emergency.

Environmental activities (cleaning and beautification)

We carry out activities to clean and beautify parks, roads, and areas (garbage picking, mowing, debranching, etc.). The area where we live will be beautiful and beautiful, and it will be a comfortable city to live in.

Environmental activities (garbage collection / recycling)

You can prevent the garbage from being scattered in the area by collecting the garbage in the designated garbage bag or collecting the garbage bag at the designated date and time and place.

In addition, by collecting PET bottles, cans, bottles, food trays, etc. in recycling boxes and having them collected by a trader, not only beautification of the area but also recycling of resources will result in the limited amount of natural resources that can be mined. It is possible to reduce the burden on the environment by controlling consumption and reducing the amount of landfill and disposal.

Disaster prevention activities

We carry out activities such as evacuation drills in the event of a disaster such as a fire or earthquake, patrols of fire precautions, information on evacuation sites and areas, and information sharing on disaster prevention. In disaster prevention drills, it is possible to recognize and inform residents who need special help, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, so it is possible to help as many people as possible in the event of an emergency.

In addition, to ensure daily safety, we will submit requests for improvement of public facilities to government agencies, such as repairing street lights and fences, installing guardrails, and reinforcing areas where landslides may occur.

Security and crime prevention activities

In order to prevent crimes such as burglaries and thrill kills, we will install security cameras, regularly patrol, watch children's school roads, install caution signs, and report strangers and cars. Ensuring local safety is indispensable for living with peace of mind.

Community exchange event

We hold community exchange events such as summer festivals, Bon festival dances, rice cake making competitions, Keirokai, New Year's parties, and recreational activities for the purpose of fellowship and comfort.

There are also events that can be attended by local residents other than self-governing members, contributing to a wider range of community friendship.

Traffic safety activities

We carry out traffic safety activities through cautions against illegal parking and bicycle parking, notification to the government, and especially traffic safety awareness activities for young people and the elderly.

Social welfare activities

We carry out social welfare activities such as red feather fundraising and charity events, or support for them.

Health awareness activities

We carry out radio exercises and exercises for the purpose of promoting and maintaining health, and share information on health.

In addition, we will carry out activities that reduce the risk of injury such as improving steps and repairing road damage and depressions, and activities that reduce the risk of illness such as infectious disease prevention measures such as distributing masks to autonomous members.

Youth development / educational activities

We will promote and support youth development and educational activities through cooperation with local elementary and junior high schools, cooperation with PTA, and support for children's associations and youth association activities.

Autonomous membership fee

Through the various activities mentioned above, the residents' association realizes a safe and secure life in the area.

The cost of implementing and operating the residents'association activities will be collected from the residents' association members as the residents' association fee.

The amount of the residents'association fee varies depending on the residents' association, and ranges from about 100 yen per month to several thousand yen.

Currently, most residents'associations nationwide visit their homes one by one to collect the membership fees and hand them over by hand.

With this app, you can pay the operating fee (residential membership fee) for the activities of the residents'association online, and by reducing the operational burden on the officers of the residents' association, you can effectively use it for other activities of the residents' association.

Finally

The residents' association is a voluntary organization that will be your closest and encouraging ally, such as guiding you to evacuation shelters, rescue and rescue activities in the event of a disaster such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake or the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In addition, with the progress of urbanization, declining birthrate, and aging population, it is becoming more and more important in daily life to help each other in the spirit of mutual aid through social activities for the elderly and youth development activities.

Now that we are in a convenient world where we can live alone, it is very important to deepen exchanges and friendships between people who are close to us.

We hope that you will utilize My Residents'Association and that the activities of the Residents' Association will be operated efficiently so that your local life will be improved more safely and securely.
