Receive the LRIT Reporting Status of your Norwegian Flag Ship Anywhere, Anytime

The LRIT (Long Range Identification and Tracking) is a global satellite-based system for the identification and tracking of vessels. The system was introduced in Norway in 2009. Its is a closed system used exclusively by public authorities. Kystverket is the NCA (National Competant Authority) for the Norwegian LRIT system.

The LRIT Norway App provides Near Real-Time LRIT reporting status for all registered Norwegian vessels navigating around the world.

The LRIT Norway App provides two types of services:

- An "Open Service" (Free to access by any users) and,

- An "LRIT Reporting Status Service".

WHO can use the LRIT Reporting Status Service?: - Only REGISTERED & APPROVED users. Mainly:

- Ship's Captains / Officers;

- Ship's Security Officers;

- Security Agents;

- Ship Operation / Technical Managers

- Ship Superintendents

- Shipping / Maritime Administrations

Users will be able to check the reporting status of their ships at any given time, and be able to follow appropriate procedures based on the type of reporting status received.

Only REGISTERED & APPROVED users will be entitled to access the reporting status of the ships they are responsible of.

EASY STEPS FOR GETTING START WITH THE SERVICE - LRIT SHIPS REPORTING STATUS:

1 - Download the LRIT Norway (Android APP)

2 - Register from the APP menu

3 - Receive automatic email notification of your registration

4 - Receive email of approval / non-approval from Kystverket

5 - If approved, login from LRIT Norway App with your credentials

6 - Select "LRIT Reporting Service" and send request for the reporting status of your ships.

5 - Check your registered e-mail to see the reporting status and associate message, which is sent automatically.

INTERNATIONAL REGULATION:

As stated by the IMO, the obligations of ships to transmit LRIT information and the rights and obligations of SOLAS Contracting Governments and of Search and rescue services to receive LRIT information are established in regulation V/19-1 of the 1974 SOLAS Convention.
