Property and construction consultancy Property Tectonics has unveiled an innovative new app to assist local authorities and registered landlords in managing their properties in Wales. The technology enables surveyors to collect data required by the Welsh Government as part of its Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS).

The new app has been developed by Property Tectonics under its award-winning Lifespan brand and enables surveyors with relevant qualifications and experience to carry out WHQS survey assessments as accurately and efficiently as possible. Data collected for each property consists of three parts, the property address, the WHQS assessment and photographic records.

This app has been designed with the surveyor in mind, with data being collected using a minimal number of clicks and death by scroll bar. It’s a lite version of our full Lifespan asset management software and is a terrific piece of kit that can be used on a small tablet as surveyors go from property to property.It has been specially designed to meet the requirements of the WHQS assessments, it preempts their requirements, making life easier for Local Authorities and housing associations who need to submit returns to the Welsh Government.

The app, together with the Lifespan Lite software,eradicates the reliance on spreadsheets which can be cumbersome, inaccurate and time-consuming. The information gathered automatically goes on to the web server so anyone who needs to see it can log in and access it.*

Property Tectonics, which has its headquarters in Manchester and a base in Hertfordshire, is now a market leader in developing its asset management software system (AMS) mainly for the housing sector It has maintained a significant customer base during the past two decades, from large organisations with 60,000 plus homes to small providers with less than 1,000.

The management information within the system is essential to delivering a property investment strategy and forms the backbone of forward and tactical planning for any housing organisation. It is also fundamental in ensuring money is wisely spent and in demonstrating this to government and other regulatory bodies.

*In order to have access to Lifespan Lite for WHQS a Licence Agreement must be entered into with an annual rental fee based on number of properties and is not part of this app subscription. The app is solely data collection not analysis and reporting. Lifespan is delivered under a SaaS (Software as a Service) deliver model. This means there are no prohibitive up front purchase costs enabling organisations flexibility on payment terms. Rental can be paid monthly, quarterly or annually depending on the specific requirements of the organisation. The business model was adapted earlier this year mainly to help smaller housing organisations who are unable to afford a large upfront capital expenditure but their needs are no less than those of a larger organisation.
