The purpose of the Know Your Rights App is to allow you to know what New Zealand police officers can do when they use their warrantless search powers. The purpose of this App is to not help you break the law, it is rather to make the law accessible to people in an easy to understand manner.

This tool informs a person how the New Zealand police can exercise their search powers in relation to stopping cars and people in public. At the bottom of each section, there is a link to the law, case law, and Police manuals.
