Sheikh Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi

Imam and preacher at the “Al-Andalus” Mosque in the Anassi neighborhood in the city of Casablanca. He was born in the city of Safi, Morocco, in 1967 AD. He memorized the Qur’an when he was only nine years old. He obtained a baccalaureate in Modern Arts. The Sheikh was distinguished by his melodious and humble reading voice, and he was one of the great Moroccan reciters of the Holy Qur’an, narrated by Warsh on the authority of Nafi’.

The reciter Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi is famous for his special recitation, in which he mixes the Eastern method with the Moroccan accent. He began his path in memorizing the Holy Qur’an at the age of four and completed its memorization when he was nine years old. He participated in many local and international Qur’anic competitions and won first places in them. He practiced the Imamate at the age of eighteen and still maintains it. He has many media contributions and audio recordings of the Holy Quran narrated by Warsh on the authority of Nafi’.

His life

Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi was born in the Moroccan city of Safi in 1967 AD, into a conservative family that loved the Holy Qur’an and its sciences. He was influenced by many scholars and sheikhs, and his son-in-law had a great favor on him, as he took him by the hand and supervised his memorization of the Holy Qur’an and the arts of Tajweed from an early age. In parallel, Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi continued his formal education successfully until the public school train stopped at the baccalaureate level. After that, Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi devoted himself to studying the Holy Qur’an and the rules of Tajweed, and most of his interests were focused on this field. In a short time, he succeeded in refining his talent and establishing his name as one of the most successful young reciters. In this regard, invitations were directed to him from inside and outside Morocco to participate in Qur’anic competitions that took place. It is organized by a number of national and international institutions and bodies. Its first national participation was in 1979 AD, while Kuwait represented its first international participation in 1981 AD. After his success in memorizing the Qur’an and mastering its rules, Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi devoted himself to the field of imamate. He led people in the city of Safi for Tarawih prayers in 1982 AD, then led people for Tarawih prayers in Casablanca in 1992 AD, before traveling to the United States of America to lead Muslims at the Islamic Center in New York City. Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi received many invitations to read the Holy Qur’an at the opening of activities organized by a number of national and international institutions.

Al-Ayoun Al-Kushi became famous among Moroccans in particular for his appearance as a guest in the Ramadan Qur’anic procession on the first Moroccan channel over the years. He was also known for his audio recordings of the Qur’an, which were broadcast to him from time to time by Arab and Islamic channels, most notably the Al-Fajr satellite channel.
