Learning platform for taxi-drivers (co-funded by EU Lifelong Learning Programme)

This is an innovative training application for professional taxi-drivers available in English, Greek, French, Finnish, German, Italian and Spanish. It is the result of the joint effort of 8 organisations and companies in Greece, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Finland, Cyprus and Italy ; a mix of experts in the taxi- and transport-sector, vocational education and training, and technical training solutions, who worked together in the EU co-funded project ‘TAXIstars - Designing and Developing Flexible Vocational Training for a Mobile Profession’, under the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission.

Our goal was to develop training material for professional taxi-drivers for a safer and more competitive 24h on the road profession, that would address their needs and their everyday routine, be easy to follow and attractive, and of course, practical and highly user-friendly. We got in contact with more than 400 taxi drivers in 7 countries early in our project to find out and realise that training for professional taxi-drivers is much needed, but should be kept simple, to the point, flexible, and available anytime and anywhere.

This is exactly what you can find here: Graphics, animation, videos, tests complement the TAXIstars training material, making the training experience a pleasant trip for taxi-drivers, navigating at their own pace through smartphone or tablet during a break, at the taxi queue, or at home. You have 8 training modules at your disposal about Driver well-being, Ergonomics and work-safety, Emergency case management, Personal safety, Quality services and how to deal with everyday conflicts in your job, Eco-friendliness and driving.

Rich information and tips about things that matter to a professional taxi-driver are presented like for example how you can deal with stress, how nutrition affects your driving performance, how you can avoid driving injuries, how you can apply smart driving and safety rules for the safety of you and your passengers, how to deal with medical emergencies and accidents, how to deal with risks in your job and stay safe, how to provide excellent customer service and many more.
