About GPS 2 Calories: GPS Pedometer,

English

Tracks the distance and the calories you burn by walking / running using GPS.

The key to weight loss or gain is to control you daily calories intake and expenditure. In order to lose weight you need to consume less calories than the amount you expend daily by the different activities and sport exercises you practice added to your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).

GPS 2 Calories run tracker helps you estimate the amount of calories you are burning daily by walking or when you practice running. We use a formula deduced from the results in the scientific article [1] to estimate the calories your body burns based on your current weight and the distance you run or walk in addition to the type of activity (running or walking).

GPS 2 Calories run tracker calculates the distance you performed automatically from the changes of your device location (GPS), this makes it easier for you to keep track of things, all you need to do is to update your weight in the settings screen once in a while and hit the start! button!

GPS 2 Calories run tracker keeps track of the history of your activities which helps you plan your future exercises and evaluate periodically your weight loss progress. This history is kept locally in your device internal storage (offline) which allows you to use GPS 2 Calories run tracker even when you are outdoor and when you have no internet access.

GPS 2 Calories has also a set of fitness calculator that helps you determine approximately the current state of your body:

1. Exercise Burned Calories: this calculator helps you estimate the number of calories your burned by walking or running but this time you have to enter the distance and weight manually.

2. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): BMR is the number of calories required daily to keep your body functioning at rest (the amount of calories you would burn if you were asleep all day). To estimate your weight loss weekly first calculate this value (X):

X = (7 × BMR) + (WEEK BURNED CALORIES) – (WEEK FOOD CALORIES)

Knowing that 1KG of fat contains 8800 calories you can divide X by 8800 to estimate your weight loss in Kilograms. (or divide by 3500 to have it in pounds).

We use in this calculator the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation [2].

3. Body Mass Index (BMI): BMI is an attempt to quantify the amount of tissue mass (muscle, fat, and bone) in an individual, and then categorize that person as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese based on that value.

4. Body Fat Percentage: you can use this calculator to estimate your total body fat based on specific measurements (waist circumference, neck circumference, hip circumference and height).

Using GPS 2 Calories you can achieve your fitness goal towards a better health and shape without having to worry about technical stuff too much.
