FLASCO is a member supported state society that focuses on providing education, timely dissemination of pertinent information and general support of the Florida professionals who have chosen the challenging medical discipline of oncology.

Our general membership consists of over 1,800 medical, radiation, surgical, gynecologic, pediatric oncologists and oncologists in training. Along with their support teams which include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, office managers and other supporting staff that are currently serving in the oncology field. The remainder of our members consist of dedicated individuals who are employed by pharmaceutical, insurance or companies affiliated with the corporate world who ardently support the mission of FLASCO.

As champions of cancer patients in Florida, our members are bona fide heroes. Our passionate work revolves around providing the very best treatments and advancing best practices to bring healing and hope to patients and their families. Our noble fight will be won as a team – by seeing our peers as allies rather than competitors. Our members across various disciplines benefit from sharing knowledge and mutual consultation, as this offers the greatest hope for patients. FLASCO provides a united platform to encourage, enhance and empower collaboration.

Like any hero, every oncology clinician needs a sidekick. FLASCO is that unwavering, trusted partner. As tireless patient advocates, we lead state legislative efforts, champion cancer research, and secure funding to advance the future of oncology and develop tomorrow’s oncology leaders. We wade through the bureaucratic waters that threaten to dilute the sole purpose of oncology professionals – to treat cancer. We go to battle for our members and for patients, providing direct support whenever needed. We provide oncology experts the network, intellectual resources and support to give patients the highest quality of care.

We serve all areas from medical oncology/hematology to radiation oncology to surgical oncology. Beyond diagnosis and treatment, FLASCO is dedicated to serving the vastly growing need for survivorship care. Through digital and social communication advancements and an ongoing commitment to meaningful and relevant personal interactions, we will develop new forums to share ideas and deliver breakthroughs for our patients.

Existing for a powerful mission, FLASCO’s work raises the overall standard of oncology practice. Together, our members set a bar that cancer patients will come to expect.
