About Droid Containers
Run Docker-style containers on your Android device — no root, no Termux.
Droid Containers brings container technology to your Android device. Pull, manage and run Docker-style containers — all from a native Android app, with no root access and no Termux required.
Powered by a proot userspace container engine (ptrace-based filesystem isolation), it translates familiar Docker-style commands — pull, run, ps, logs, exec, rm, compose — into a clean, modern Android experience built entirely with Jetpack Compose and Material 3.
★ KEY FEATURES
🖼️ Image Pulling
A pure-Kotlin OCI Registry V2 client with streaming layer-by-layer download, resumable transfers and layer caching. Watch progress in real time.
🔄 Registry Mirrors
Multiple built-in mirror candidates with automatic failover, plus custom mirrors you can pin to the top.
📦 Container Management
Create, start, stop and remove containers. Stale RUNNING states are auto-corrected, with a unified error banner.
💻 Interactive Terminal
An interactive shell inside your containers, powered by a high-performance terminal emulator.
🧩 Compose-style Orchestration
Describe a group of services in YAML and bring the whole stack up or down in one tap — with dependency-aware startup ordering and failure rollback.
🌐 Remote Web Console
The app can run a built-in HTTP server (foreground service). Open http://: in any browser, sign in with a token, and manage images, containers and stacks from your desktop — with live pull progress and log streaming over SSE.
🐳 Docker Engine API Compatibility
A Docker Engine API subset (v1.43): point your existing tools — including Portainer — at http://: and run ps / run / stop / rm / pull / logs / exec remotely.
⚙️ Flexible Settings
Persistent configuration for registry mirrors, DNS, auto-start behavior and the remote console (Web/Docker switches, port, API token, audit log).
🌍 Four Languages
English, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Japanese built in.
★ WHO IS IT FOR?
• Developers who want to prototype and test Linux server images on the go
• Self-hosting enthusiasts exploring lightweight services on a spare phone
• Learners who want a hands-on container playground without a Linux box
• Engineers running edge/IoT workloads where a phone is the computer
★ REQUIREMENTS & NOTES
• Android 8.0+ (API 26), 64-bit devices only (arm64-v8a / x86_64)
• No root required — isolation is done in userspace via proot
• Containers share the host kernel; features relying on kernel namespaces or privileged operations are not available, and port publishing maps to the device's own network stack
• Best used on Wi-Fi; large image downloads may consume significant data and storage
• This app is an independent, open-source project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Docker, Inc. "Docker" is used only to describe the familiar command semantics and API compatibility.
