In the app, users are linked to people who hold opposing opinions. In this way, Discussier Mit Mir aims to promote democratic exchange, contribute to the objectification of debates, burst filter bubbles and counteract the feeling of increasing polarization in society.

Diskutier Mit Mir e.V. is a non-profit association that has set itself the task of strengthening the democratic discourse in Germany and Europe with the help of digital discussion tools. The principle of Diskutier Mit Mir e.V. is to create protected digital spaces and to bring people with opposing political views into a dialogue.

Diskutier Mit Mir e.V. was founded prior to the 2017 federal election. In the four weeks prior to the election, around 20,000 conversations between people with opposing political opinions took place on discussiermitmir.de. Since then, Diskutier Mit Mir has supported all state elections with thematic channels on controversial discussion topics.
