PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF A DIESEL ENGINE

The principle of operation of a diesel engine type is different from gasoline engines. There are no spark plugs, and the fuel is supplied to the cylinders separately from the air.

HOW IS A DIESEL ENGINE?

The main difference between the design of diesel engines and gasoline engines is the presence of a high-pressure fuel pump, diesel injectors and the absence of spark plugs.

The general structure of these two varieties of the power unit does not differ. And in fact, and in the other there are a crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons. At the same time, the diesel engine has all the elements strengthened, since the loads on them are higher.
