CRUMPET, the Tail Company App!

Got a MiTail, EarGear, FlutterWings, or MiTail Mini? This is the app you need!

All our app-controlled animatronic items use this app to give them life.

Its been created for:

- MiTail - our best moving tail you can get

- EarGear - for the ultimate animatronic ears

- FlutterWings - new fairy, butterfly or bee wings that flutter

- MiTail Mini - for Bunny, Husky or Deer tails!

- Digitail - our older tail model

With new features being added all the time, your new Tail, Ears or Wings really do come alive with Crumpet the app.

What can I do with the app? Add the magic! Control your Tail, Ears and Wings with Moves, Move Lists, as well as set Walk Mode and Casual Mode and more features are being added regularly.

Please remember to give your MiTail, DIGITAiL or EarGear a really good charge when you get them and read the instructions which are linked in the app.

Please remember: adding extra features to our items like Gestures, is exciting, and lets us explore new ways to control our gear. But there's always a possibility that you can find a way to damage your tail that we have missed. Repetitive moves for long periods, or moves where the tail is trying to go in different directions at the same time will damage your tail. Please wag responsibly! If it sounds bad, probably best avoid doing it again. Follow this advice and your items will last for years.

Permissions

The app requires two permissions, and we thought that we should tell you here what those are and what they are for.

The first you will be asked for on app startup is Write External Storage. This permission is used for translation support, as well as for storing the crumpet files where the commands sent to the tails and ears are stored (much more will be happening with this as we go along, but you can already play with it now).

The second you will be asked for is Access Fine Location, which is what is required to look for bluetooth devices, which is how your tails and ears talk with the app. Without that permission, we won't be able to find and connect to your tail.

Importantly, if you would like to see proof that we're being good about this, please do get in touch! All the code is entirely free and open, and if you are particularly worried you can even build it yourself if you would like, but more than anything else we want you to feel safe and know that we don't ask for these permissions without reason, even if their names might seem scary.
