Who are we? We’re three computer scientists a.k.a. ‘anarCHI’ that created an application ‘FrigoShare’ for the course Userinterfaces at the KU Leuven that allows students to share their leftovers (we’re talking about food). Why do we need it? While using this application ‘FrigoShare’, you will not have to start a food marathon Thursday evening, you will not have to throw away your leftovers to stimulate a cat serenade and you will not realize that there’s something living in your fridge Monday morning.

What do we expect from you? We hope that you’re willing to test our application and that you’re willing to give some feedback. Just leave some comments.

How does it work? We hope you still want to test our application. The application allows you to offer some leftover. Give it a name (e.g.: “banana”), choose a category, enter the retrieval address and some description (e.g.: “yellow banana”) and add some timeslots (e.g.: when someone can obtain your leftover at your given location).

We know this might be a threshold for using the application, so we introduced multiple categories: TEST and the rest. If you do not choose TEST, we expect that you allow someone to come and get your leftover. If you succeed to claim a non-TEST leftover, we expect that you will get the leftover at the time slot you selected.

If you choose TEST, you can offer and claim imaginary leftovers. So you don’t have to wait for the one who claimed it, or go and get the leftover you claimed.

If you accidently offered a non-TEST leftover, just claim it yourself and no harm is done.

Will we track something? Because the purpose of the course userinterfaces is focusing on a user-centered design and its influences on the userinterface, we will track every button click you make. That way we can see how long it takes between two consecutive actions in order to find possible lacks of clarity and find the most popular paths through our application. These data will only be used by us (anarCHI) for gathering statistics.
