Power of Wisdom

Once upon a time there lived a big group of rabbits near a pond in a jungle. They had got proper food, water and shelter there. They were happy and had peaceful living.

One day a group of elephants came in the jungle in search of food and water. They came across the pond. They found plenty of food and water there.

They used to play in the pond. They ate plants nearby. They took rest there. Their fun activities went on for the whole day. They liked the place.

But the problem was elephants’ activities used to smash the holes of the rabbits living nearby. The rabbits were so small that the elephants walked over them without noticing them. The rabbits used to get hurt because of this.

This was the elephants’ every day routine. Now the rabbits got worried. One of them said, “Many of us get hurt every day because the elephants walk over us. They destroy our holes too. It is the high time now…”

He continued, “...We should do something otherwise they will finish all of us.” The other rabbit said, “But what can we do? We are small and weak and they are giant and powerful. We cannot fight with them…”

He continued, “...I feel we have to leave this place if we want to save our lives and live peacefully.” Everyone agreed heavy heartedly.

Then a smart rabbit came out and said, “Leaving the place is not the solution. We should face the problem if we want to live with dignity. Don’t worry...”

He continued, “…I have a plan to get rid of those elephants. Wisdom is the best weapon with which most powerful can also be defeated.”

Next evening the clever rabbit went to the leader of the elephants and said confidently, “Sir! I am the messenger of God- Moon. I have come here to warn you that this is the personal pond of God…”

He continued, “...He comes down to take rest in this pond. You have disturbed him. That’s why he is angry with you. If you want to save yourself from his anger, leave this place immediately and don’t come back ever.”

By that time night had fallen down. The rabbit showed the Moon’s shadow into the water of the pond and said, “Look God is taking rest. It is wise to say sorry to him and leave. Then probably he forgives you.”

The elephant’s leader carried away by the rabbit’s smart talks and saw into the water. He mistook the Moon’s reflection to be the real Moon. He got afraid and said sorry on the behalf of his group and left the place for ever.

Everyone praised the rabbit for his wisdom. The moral of the story is “One should not lose his calm and think wisely for the solution of the problem. Wisdom is the best weapon with which most powerful can also be defeated.”
