Internet Archive

The Internet Archive is an American nonprofit digital library founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle. It operates the website archive.org and provides free public access to a vast collection of digitized materials, including websites, software, music, videos, audio recordings, and books. The organization promotes a free and open internet, with a mission to provide universal access to all knowledge.

The Internet Archive allows users to upload and download digital content, while most of its data is collected automatically through web crawlers designed to preserve the public web. Its web archiving service, the Wayback Machine, contains over one trillion archived web pages. The Archive also manages one of the world’s largest book digitization initiatives.
