Kansas Children’s Service League along with 20+ co-sponsoring organizations and underwriters present the annual Governor’s Conference for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, an educational, networking and recognition event acknowledged as the most comprehensive conference in Kansas regarding the issues of child abuse and neglect. The program content and structure has been developed to accommodate the diverse needs of professionals who provide services to children and have a strong commitment to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The Governor’s Conference features the best speakers the field has to offer, addresses current topics and issues and emphasizes knowledge-sharing, skills-building, practical application and audience participation. Workshops focus on prevention strategies such as the Five Protective Factors; steps to Create Safe, Stable and Nurturing Relationships as defined in the Centers for Disease Control’s Essentials for Childhood; and seven Kansas Department for Children and Families tracks.
