Aide replaces your default Android assistant with a real AI. Try it with the built-in on-device model — no API key needed — or bring your own key for Claude, OpenAI, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Swipe from the corner or hold the power button to summon Aide, just like the built-in assistant. Ask it about what's on your screen, send a text, set an alarm, or look something up — all without leaving what you're doing.
RUNS ON YOUR PHONE
Aide ships with a small AI model that runs entirely on-device. Pick "Aide on-device" in Settings to chat without an API key — it handles basic questions and quick actions like timers, texts, navigation, or web search. Free, private, ~550 MB download on first use. For harder questions, pair it with a cloud provider — switch between them with one tap from the chat header.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Use the on-device model and nothing leaves your phone — no API calls, no telemetry. Bring your own API key and it's encrypted on-device with AES-256, with conversations going directly to your provider — Aide never sees them. No middleman servers, no usage caps, no data collection. Conversation history is stored locally on your device.

Aide on-device, the built-in no-key assistant model, got a major upgrade:
• Far more accurate device actions — timers, alarms, and calendar events understand phrases like "an hour and a quarter" or "next Friday at 8:30"
• Better understanding of voice commands
• Answers what it knows, searches the web when it doesn't
• Fixed: conversations are now titled from your first message
The updated on-device model downloads automatically if you use Aide on-device. Cloud providers are unaffected.
