About AABrowser

AABrowser is a browser app that brings media-friendly browsing to Android Auto head units.
AABrowser helps users make better use of parked time with a layout designed for large in-car screens. It keeps common actions easy to reach and focuses on clear visuals so you can read and navigate without fuss. Because safe use matters, it is intended for passengers or for stationary use only. Streaming support depends on Widevine L3 DRM, so some services may not play. For those who prefer side-loading, the AABrowser APK is available here.
Key features for car screens
Automotive-first interface
AABrowser uses a native automotive layout that fits car displays rather than stretching a phone UI. Large touch targets and clear labels make navigation straightforward from the driver or passenger seat. As a result, you can focus on content while controls stay within easy reach.
Fullscreen video with DRM support
You can watch fullscreen video during charging breaks or at rest stops when the vehicle is parked. AABrowser supports Widevine L3 DRM inside the WebView. Some streaming services require higher security levels and may not play, so plan for that limitation before you press play.
Tabs and session control
AABrowser offers real tabs with an in app tab manager, so you can keep multiple pages open and switch between them quickly. If your session ends, the browser can restore tabs and optionally resume the last page. This makes it simple to pick up where you left off the next time you are parked.
Start page dashboard
Set up a clean start page with up to six quick links for the sites you use most in the car. Site icons are cached for faster recognition, and you can set a custom background that fits your display. From there, you can reach your usual destinations without extra typing.
Readability tools and handy controls
AABrowser keeps a persistent URL bar in view so you do not lose track of where you are. A configurable quick action button lets you place a frequently used control within a thumb’s reach. You can switch between light and true black themes, apply a global display scale, and use smart desktop mode for sites that work better with a wider layout. For darker cabins, the optional Beta Dark Pages setting can darken supported sites through the WebView.
Before you use AABrowser in your car
Safety comes first. Do not interact with AABrowser while driving. Use it only when the vehicle is parked or let a passenger handle browsing. The app is designed for Android Auto head units and prioritizes clear, reachable controls suited for car screens.
About DRM and streaming in AABrowser
DRM playback runs at Widevine L3. If a streaming service requires a higher security level, playback may not work within the WebView. For the most reliable experience, test your favorite services while parked. Using the AABrowser latest version can also improve overall media behavior and stability.
How to use AABrowser on Android Auto
Set up and use AABrowser in a parked vehicle for safe operation. To begin, download AABrowser, then open it on your head unit and adjust the basic layout to fit your screen. After that, create a few shortcuts so you can reach frequent sites quickly.
Launch AABrowser from your Android Auto app list when the car is parked, then review the on-screen controls.
Open the start page and add up to six quick links for news, video, or other pages you plan to use in the car.
Choose a theme, set the global display scale, and enable Beta Dark Pages if you prefer darker sites on supported pages.
Enter a web address in the URL bar, open pages in new tabs, and manage them with the in app tab manager as needed.
When you want to watch a clip while stationary, start playback and switch to fullscreen, then exit fullscreen to return to browsing.
