The SMSServer App runs as a background program reading your remote text file on your WebSite.

The Text file has a format as below:

Ser. No=mobile. no.=sms message.

e.g a text file at the URL: http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.txt

1=9999888777=Hello Brother

2=8888777555=Hello Sister

3=9999888777=How is whether in Delhi

4=8888777555=Fine, When are you coming to Delhi?

If you have web chat program updating a smschat.txt text file then run this App on your Smartphone with a Reliance or Airtel SMS Plan and your Android Smartphone will send SMS to respective mobile no. every time, say your http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.txt is updated.

On Starting this App it will ask you for the WebURL location to the text file e.g: http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.txt, Click Submit, then Click on Start Server.

You can kill this App from you Apps list and it will still be running on your SmartPhone.

The only way to stop this App is to go to Settings-> Apps and use "Force Stop" or "Uninstall" or Restarting your Smartphone.

4 Files are created in your internal directory:

cntmins.txt --> Minutes since SMSServer has started.

smscnt.txt --> Keep count of Lastest Serial No. to which SMS was sent to starting from 1

smsuser.txt --> This file is a replica of the remote text file on your WebSite.

urlfile.txt --> Holds the URL path that you have entered

This App is really helpful in the following Scenarios:

1. Let one Person in your family Purchase a Bulk SMS Plan and everyone in the family uses it for SMS Chat.

2. When ever the User form is Submitted on your Website and you Would like to send a thank you to your user.

3. When ever you need to send an OTP ( One Time Password ) to your user.

4. When a group wants to chat but some people do not have smart phones. You would like to send an SMS to other members of the Group via the Web.

Installing SMSServer:

1. Install the SMSServer App on your Android phone.

2. You will be asked for "TextFileLocation", Give the location where your smschat.txt is located in your public website directory

e.g: http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.txt

3. Click on the "SAVE" button and then click on the "START SERVER" button

4. Download the smschat.php from http://www.iraju.com/smsserver/smschatphp.txt

5. Rename the smschatphp.txt script smschat.php and update the "chatFile" text file locaion which is need by your SMSServer App.

6. Setup up your WebServer to run the smschat.php script from you public Website location

e.g: http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.php

7. Now enter the info by going to the eg: http://www.homeweb.com/smschat.php and submit.

8. Users should recieve SMS from your Smartphone now.
