This often gives the minister the extra task of first preparing the heart of his listeners, which the chorus leader ought to have done, before delivering his message.

Furthermore, chorus leaders often change keys at will giving the instrumentalist or organist the challenge of locating the new key. The change in key not only makes the players look ill-prepared and immature but disrupts the flow of worship. In addition, some chorus leaders are unstable and drift from one rhythm to another. A song leader for instance may start a song on a two-two clapping pattern (rhythm) and all of a sudden jumps to a song with a three-four clapping pattern (rhythm) thereby disrupting the tempo.
