It's a nice App works good on Wi-Fi and Moble.I don't know why you would need it permanently on you phone.

If you have any problem with the phone: slow browser, slow streaming.... You open Speedtest and test your Internet speed and you know in a few seconds what is the problem, slow Net or another thing.
You can test different Wi-Fi Hotspots speed or mobile data speed and then take the best one.
If you use a VPN, you can test the speed after connecting VPN.
And more, and more options....
The App does not disturb you, close it if you don't need it and open if you want it.

Yup, it helps me to monitor the speed of the internet I'm using. I'm also able to determine which telco provides better services in term of data speed around my area...
Not to forget the VPN...
