LUTHER BIBLE

Martin Luther (1483-1546) was a German theologian and reformer. Martin Luther, a 16th-century monk and theologian, is one of the most important figures in Christian history.

Main ideas of Luther:

Salvation by faith alone. Faith in God was the only way to salvation.

The only authority that can be relied on is the Bible.

The Priesthood of All Believers Luther's German translation of the New Testament appeared in 1522. He then translated the Bible into German, with the first edition appearing in Wittenberg in 1534. Although Luther's translation of the Bible into German was not the first to be published in Germany, it was the most influential.

The words and phrases Luther used in his sermons became part of the common German dialect and are still used today.

By describing everyday life in German, he not only captured the language of his time, but also influenced the further development of the language, just as Tyndale had done for English.
