Almaty resident Maxat Sartaev accidentally finds a forum on the Internet, in which there is a heated discussion of events that took place in the 17th century during the Kazakh-Dzungarian confrontation. Maksat decided to write a book telling about one of the most famous battles of that time. In the course of his work, he realizes that he needs to visit the site of an ancient battle. For this, Maksat persuades his friend, Zheka, to take him there by car. He agrees, but on the way the car gets into an accident. In an incomprehensible way, friends are in the Middle Ages. They meet a group of riders heading for the Kazakh militia. Maksat and Zheka join the militia. Soon Maksat realizes that he met with the heroes of his book, the work on which has not yet been completed.
